HELLO PERFUME PEOPLE. My name is Apryl and I used to be an engineer of a very different kind. As an Architectural Technologist, I produced construction design for many large architectural practices, councils and corporations in the UK. But sometimes life has other plans and sends you one of those momentous events that sets you off on an entirely different path. It was after just such an event that I found myself re-assessing what I really wanted out of life and this started my quest to follow my passion for perfume.
And so I retrained to professional level in the Art and Technology of Perfumery in London and Bangkok with two of the most inspirational perfumers and trainers, Stephen V. Dowthwaite and Ryan T. Chadwick of PerfumersWorld. After a great deal of gentle encouragement from my mentors and many long evenings of personal study, I immerged, reborn, as a certified perfumer and set about creating my own Indie / artisan perfumery brand here in the heart of the Fens, near Cambridge. It was quite a journey and I have never looked back.
I have been fortunate enough to have travelled to faraway places and experience the sights, sounds and smells of some of the world’s most intoxicating cultures, which I have tried to recreate in my perfumes. I hope you gain as much pleasure from wearing my fragrances as I did in creating them.
